| I am veggie because to me it makes absolute sense, I started in the 70s when a friend pointed out that it was quite easy to enjoy a good diet without finding it necessary to kill & eat other creatures or pay someone else to do the bits one didn't have the stomach for. I reckon that could be called compassion, the other aspects are health, taste & efficiency (if food is about converting the energy provided by the sun into life its more efficient for most of us to take it directly from plants than processing it through another animal, this reasoning might not apply in Tibet or Alaska!) |

| More About Me |
| I am a healthy & fit, smallish, reasonably intelligent, sensitive, caring, etc guy. Good with animals & children. Working, solvent but not wealthy. Currently self employed craftsman, spent 10 years or so in the music biz. Much travelled, Europe, Asia & States, on own account as well as work, but that was a long time ago. I think I am reasonably socially aware, I have done some community work here & there, particularly with the travelling community. Not very political, a plague on all their houses at the moment, tended towards the left/liberal or anarchist. Green leaning but a motorhead I am afraid, enjoy & use pre-war cars. Have had quite a roller coaster life. Long time marriage went away a few years ago. I hope I am steady, loyal & honest, at least I do try, might have to admit to being a tad eccentric! Don't have a TV, don't go clubbing, I enjoy my music, (rock, blues, folk, world, techno, radio3 Late Junction, etc). Have many old long term friends who I am close to & fond of but none of whom seem to fit into this scenario. |

| I'm Looking For |
| Casual or serious, long or short term friendships & relationships. While ideally I would like to find someone to share the future with it has become obvious that I need to get to know some more women as I appeared to have allowed that social side of my life to cease when I was married. It would be good to enlarge that circle of women whom I have met & see where any interesting and mutual attraction may lead. I am here at VeggieCon because its hard to imagine the magic/recognition clicking with a heavy meat-eating, right-wing, smoker, though not altogether impossible! So I am happy to communicate electronically long distance with potential friends/allies/mates, & personally/physically with those who may be closer. |
