| I became vegetarian at the age of 14 for God, for the other animals, for it is the right thing to do. I now know about a bazillion environmental reasons that only reinforce my beliefs. The physical health reasons have never been part of it, yet that is a nice extra. The home ec teacher in my high school told my friends that a person cannot live as a vegetarian. They expected me to die in short order and pleaded with me to eat animals again as they did. Here we are more than forty years later and I am not only alive, but thriving. Some of the classmates are no longer with us. The home ec teacher was a ditz anyway, but that is another story for another time..... |

| What you see is what you get, but you also get so much more than appearances suggest! I am comfortable in my own skin. I know and like who I am. Therefore, I have no use for painting my face, prancing around in spiky heels, dressing like a whore, dancing backwards or hanging ornaments on myself like some primitive Christmas Tree. I don't need you to complete me. The right partner is a nice add-on. Likewise, I cannot complete you or make you happy if you're not an already happy person. Can you live with that, or will it make your orbs fall off? If you are secure enough in your own identity that you don't feel a need to boss someone around, if you can respect that we are both busy and you are not my keeper, not my boss, not my patient, not the only person or activity in my life, and you happen to like the Whatyouseeiswhatyouget look, then we just may have a winner. | First of all, if you're listed as being a new member on this site, odds are I won't even reply to your contact due to the abundance of scammers and weirdos who join this site and then get kicked off once Customer care sees through their games. Accordingly, new members, click off now. For me, it has always been about spirituality/ethics/animal rights. Any partner needs to share that philosophy. It is not all about us and merely keeping our bodies healthier. It is about goodness and decency. Likewise, those claiming to be "semi-vegetarian" do not measure up for me. It is phony .People are either vegetarians or they aren't. There is no such thing as "semi vegetarian" any more than there is being just a little bit cruel or a little bit of a racist bastard. |
