| A seed was planted in my brain when I was 18 by a vegetarian (no pun intended...). Didn't act on it for 8 years, then I watched an episode of "Quincy" (am I dating myself?) that dealt with racehorses and an abandoned slaughterhouse. I saw the inside of that place, and knew I'd never contribute to such a barbaric practice again. I believe everything is connected, and the harm we cause now we will have to undo at a later time. Animials do not deserve what is done to them, and I believe I was destined to be a veg. Went vegan 7 years ago; wish I had done it sooner! |

| I've happily been an ethical veg since 1980, and a vegan for 7 years. I'm easy-going and adaptable. My 27-year-old daughter has graduated from college, and moved to North Carolina. I moved down here this year (2022) after I retired. I would like to meet new people for conversation, laughs, grabbing a meal, movies, etc. I live in north central North Carolina, about 50 minutes from Raleigh. Love outdoor stuff, but am not an avid camper. Serious about the environment. Short hikes, almost anything on the water, gardening, seeing live music, reading, dining out, being with friends, the theater and/or ballet, riding a Harley, and caring for animals are all things I really enjoy. Love the Loft and the Underground Garage stations on my Sirius!! I do enjoy my alone time, and certainly expect the same in my friends. Frankly, I have found it somewhat challenging to find romantic involvement as the years go by, and being vegan has complicated things, unfortunately. Although I would certainly like to have someone special in my life, and don't relish the thought of going into this phase of life alone, I don't expect it. Should that happen, bonus!!
