| Why I'm Vegan |
| I became a vegetarian in 1999 with the intention of becoming vegan, which I did in 2001. My eyes were opened to the idea of veganism through music. A number of bands I listened to happened to vegan and this prompted me to learn more about it. After much reading, I decided it was for me. Prior to changing, I had a horrible diet. I ate out at fast food places all the time. I needed to change for my health. I was also abhorred by the idea of factory farming. All that I learned about being vegan drove me to it. Now I live my life as an example for others to see. I don’t push my beliefs onto any one. I wouldn’t appreciate any one forcing theirs upon me. If I can influence just one person by example, I’ll be happy. So far, I’ve converted four, but opened up the minds of many. |

| More About Me |
| I love animals and the great outdoors. I love hiking, mountain biking, running. I spend a lot of time listening to music, reading books and watching movies. I listen to heavy metal, classic rock, punk, and industrial music mostly, but definitely not limited to just those genres. I love going to concerts and try to get to as many as possible. Industrial/goth nights are where I can be found if not at a show. I like a variety of genres when it comes to books: sci-fi, horror, fantasy, and more. My favorite movies are the ones that make you think or have a hidden or satirical message. American Beauty, The Usual Suspects, and V for Vendetta are some of my favorites. However, Lord of the Rings rules as my top movie and book. I know that for the most part they are viewed as a trilogy, but it’s really all one story. I do watch movies and shows on Netflix and Hulu. Favorite shows: The Simpsons, Coupling (BBC version), Family Guy, Firefly, Archer, Bob's Burgers, and The Office (BBC and US versions). |
