| i am a vegetarian because i love all animals and because i cant hurt any animal and believe we should even have respect towards insects in how we deal with them . why do people tend to think they are better than other life forms, just because we are smarter? But how smart are we? I actually believe sometime in the future it is possible the entire human race will mature so much that everyone will be vegetarians/ vegans and that the thoughtless meat eaters of today will actually be viewed as pre historic or barbaric. I became a vegetarian when i realized that my money, when buying meat (or even dairy) was actually killing animals, because meat is not given away for free. Lately i've been able to mostly be vegan at home and then vegan/vegetarian when i eat out, but i could easily become totally vegan again. it has also done wonders for my weight. i am also wanting to move to a more open minded and liberal place where i can find more like minded people. Somewhere like perhaps northern California, Oregon or Washington. |

| i am a spiritually eclectic human being, believe there are good and wise folks in all religions and cultures. I like to stay fit eat healthy, think positive and like mostly rock, folk/rock and alternative music, sometimes even blue grass, classical or world music. I try to stay as peaceful and calm and positive as I can and stay open to the spirit and animal world as well. Spiritually as a young man I related mostly to Chan Buddhism otherwise known as early Zen Buddhism which originally started in China and is actually a combination of Taoism and Buddhism. Then for many years after that I considered myself a Christian Buddhist because i saw so many similarities between the two religions. Now I've come to realize that all major world religions and even many native ones as well all contain at their core an 'Infinite Foundation' and that its just that our very immature human minds have a hard time grasping this 'Infinite core' and so people of various religions all seem to argue over what they cant really even understand about their own religion. To me if someone really understood the basis of their own religion they would understand the basis of practically all other religions as well. To me this 'Infinite Place' (call it what you will) is within us all and so on some level everything is actually apart of everything else. It is a place of no boundaries and no egos of any kind. To me this 'place' can best be experienced with an open mind and a loving heart....i believe somehow we are all learning basically the same lessons in our own way and time and that someday will all be in that same Infinite Place together, with our arms around each other and wondering how is it possible that we haven't always gotten along so well and that those who we once thought were our enemy were really our close friends. To me this will be Heaven... Your happiness can make me happy and your sadness can make me sad, so wouldn't it be neat if we could help to make each other happy and all other beings of feelings happy as well! |
