| Why I'm Vegan |
| Raised in an Indian household and like every other kid I ate what my parents put on the dinner table. Then when i was in a grade 5 indoor bbq, i was offered a hot dog. And I saw an animal not a hot dog. That's when i consciously chose being a vegetarian. I got my first job in highschool and with my own spending money for the first time, i decided to stay veg because i love animals.. Then ten years ago, in 2006, i saw a documentary on the dairy industry at Toronto Veg Festival.. Honestly i walked into the theatre because it was a hot day and they were showing a free movie. I walked in as a vegetarian and walked out as a vegan. I generally believe in the notion of increasing the positive things i do, decreasing the negative things i do and striving to be the best man i can and achieving the greatest amount of good with my life.. Words like satyagraha and ahimsa aren't just words to me. They are perspectives and practices.. I'm imperfect at the practice yet growth-oriented and always working a better man. |
