Why I'm Vegetarian |
Besides it making sense not to kill other living entities for food, being vegetarian is a central part of my religious belief. |

More About Me |
I am very well travelled and can be comfortable in all kinds of settings. Am presently in NYC after spending most of '05 in Alachua Fl. (the area has the largest community of Hare Krishna's in the US). Have lived and travelled in India for over 8 yrs. Lived in Hong Kong and Taiwan for 2 yrs each and Canada for 1 year. Am well read, culturally fluent and keep up on current affairs in the world. I am familiar with and interested in situations (history/culture and languages) of other countries/regions of the world. I am multilingual, musically inclined and competent in music theory. I can appreciate different musical genres though my formal training is Western classical. I like to perform/play in Bhajans. I prefer to cook for myself and invite friends to eat and share food and ideas. Like my persona which is eclectic, my cooking is a mix but I can prepare basic (filling) Indian and Chinese meals. Sometimes I can turn out "fusion" cuisines with the stuff bought in supermarkets. I dislike instant food/culture and all else but can coexist with it. I also have certain specialities which cannot be accounted for. I have a streak of the survivor/backwoodsman/naturalist in me and am also a handyman of sorts. I am not opposed to organic farming, or gardening but doubt that I can find the time to get into this as a hobby. I am a practical idealist and can be extremely efficient in commercial dealings. I am basically a very simple guy but have a mind that is philosophical and deep. This translates best into the light-heartedness that only someone with a real view of that depth can appreciate. I can often be hard to fathom/follow since I can bring in that rare or random element into a discussion. Fortunately I also believe in love though I know that this is not a cheap thing. I understand that love needs to be measured in sacrifice for the beloved. My friends are all over the planet and I believe that some are waiting for me to settle so they can come visit me. I would like my old friends to come and spend time with me and the other friends that live in the vicinity. I an known to many persons within the Krishna movement and am presently working on a book about my experiences with elephants. I have just started another on how the Krishna movement began in Malaysia, but intend to give priority to completing that first one. I hope to eventually do one on vegetarianism in China/the Chinese culture. |

I'm Looking For |
You!! While I do not have any particular preferences, I know that my prospective partner will have to be very unique and open to ideas. It would take at least this if she is going to be able to relate to how my life till now puts me very much "out of the box" (i.e most boxes). My present circumstances are not just due to the unusual circumstances that I have sprung out of; though I know how things normally work and can be very down to earth practical, somehow I have a knack for the unconventional. I am not willing to move till I actually can have a place for a home-base. This will be quite a change from my previous "homes" which was wherever I happened to be on the planet. I'd like to make my base in NYC as it's the planets most cosmopolitan city, a center of global finance and commerce and has lots of diversity. I know that my life stlye till has been something possible because I have solo. Teaming up with someone else in a ltr's will require an established home base and I welcome the feminine input that will domesticate me. While your being able to cook is an advantage, it's not necessary since I like to cook for my friends. More points if you are bi or tri-lngual. Even more if you are open to other non-consumer/instant/supermarket societies/cultures, meaning know about basic living or have lived /traveled in the third world. {This does not mean I do not appreciate the conveniences that life in the modern '1st' world have to offer or can't deal with it!} |
