| I did a long (77-day) juice fast once, and one day in the middle of the fast, I woke up and just knew that I would never eat meat again. It's now been more than 10 years since that day. |

| Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream. This is a nursery rhyme, but it's also exactly what I believe. I am an avid spiritual seeker. I practice meditation daily. My life journeys have led me to the simple conclusion/message that's perfectly encapsulated by that nursery rhyme. Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not one bit simpler. ~Albert Einstein~ Manifest plainness, Embrace simplicity, Reduce selfishness, Have few desires. ~Lao-tzu~ I am educated, (2 bachelors degrees, one in Electronic Engineering and the other in Philosophy), I consider myself smart, but none of these things define me. They are more or less accidents. I love music, leaning classical, I sing baritone in a choir, and I have studied music theory. I love kids a lot. I could spend an entire day with them. I love their simplicity and ability to be in the moment. I am an African, originally from Kenya. I love foreign languages. I have a fair amount of Spanish and Italian under my belt, french too but a little less. I can read books and understand, but I am very shy at conversing, mostly because I haven't had enough opportunities to immerse myself. I have studied some hindi and some sanskrit too. I am an avid student of the course in miracles. I am very careful about relationships and sex, but only because I believe they are sacred. I never ever rush. If we ever to get together and I say I want to be friends first, it's not because I don't like you, as it seems to indicate here in the US. I am not quite one, but in terms of experience in these matters, I am practically the 40-yr old virgin. I hope that bit of info is not a deterrent :-). That's all for now. |
