| More About Me |
| A brief description of me (according to me!): I think I'm a fairly eclectic (some say weird!) mix of high-tech and down-to-earth. I just received a PhD in engineering and got a 'real' job (I had been teaching college). I am a vegetarian (vegan, actually) and try to keep my life as natural as possible, although I don't think I'm obsessive about it (then again, I wouldn't admit it if I was, now would I?!!) I'm reasonably secure and outgoing, love to laugh and am fairly competitive (I like to win, but am also not a sore loser!) Between work and teaching classes, activities and getting together with friends, I live a rather busy lifestyle. I play soccer and/or softball several times a week. My youngest just went off to college, so I have a lot more time for socializing. I think I am finally at a point in my life that I am ready to find (or maybe recognize) that special someone! I'd rather be active than a couch potato. Fun to me is snowboarding, kayaking, playing pool, dancing, sports (mostly playing, not watching), roller coasters, and almost all outdoor activities. |

| I'm Looking For |
| Lately, I've been thinking that the way to go is to find a vegetarian guy (even though they are WAY harder to find than the "standard model". I've dated and gotten along well with omnivores (although they think I'm a bit odd!) but ... It seems that along with a vegetarian lifestyles comes a particular attitude about the important things in life: compassion, the environment, social responsibility, etc. Maybe I'm making generalities, but I don't think so. So, here goes ... Although its hard to say why we sometimes "click" with another person, I think the person I would most likely get along with would be fairly outgoing, have a slightly warped sense of humor, can give and take a good ribbing, slightly outlandish, but not completely obnoxious, intelligent but not snobbily so, and open-minded (opinions are great, I'm always open to a good debate, but I don't believe in forcing my opinions down anyone else's throat!) I also appreciate the ability and ambition to try new things. As long as it's not TOO expensive, I'm game. If you feel that this describes you, let's see if we "click"!! |
