| Why I'm Vegetarian |
| I've been a vegetarian for over half my life, initially reducing the meat I ate in high school for health concerns and then becoming a full vegetarian in university. I am now a vegetarian out of concerns for health, social, and environmental reasons. I also believe that some flexibility in my views is important, as there are parts of the world that a vegetarian diet is nonsensical. As an urban Torontonian, however, I believe my diet is appropriate. |

| More About Me |
| I am a single parent, divorced in 2016, and with two wonderful -- yet often challenging! -- boys, aged 10 and 8. My eldest son, Simon, has been diagnosed with very mild ASD. My children split their time between me and their mom and, in all honesty, my current reality is that my life is, out of necessity, devoted to my children. I also own a business that, at times, can be very stressful and demanding. I am well (overly?)-educated and like to think of myself as reasonably intelligent, with a wide variety of interests. Travel has been an important part of my life -- I have been to every continent save Antarctica, although I managed to make it to the tip of Chile -- and I have lived abroad for a few years, in a couple of different countries. I have also lived on both of Canada's East and West coasts. I dream of meeting someone who is also well-travelled, environmentally-minded (if the two can even truly co-exist!), and who has a higher degree. I enjoy cycle touring (including a trip across Canada), theatre, a divergent variety of music (not so much a fan of country, but even then. I will go to a Tool concert and a Bahamas concert in the same week. I'm listening to Nat King Cole while I write this), craft beer, and good red wine. I love food and find cooking often therapeutic; I make mostly hearty "meat and potato" meals. I like cast iron pans. I enjoy walks in all seasons, just for the sake of walking and being out. I enjoy baseball and watching the Blue Jays. I think being regularly physically active is extremely important. I believe in quality over quantity. Nature invigorates me, and as a city-dweller I too often feel disconnected from this: it's a challenge in my life. I want honesty, commitment, and sincerity in a relationship. I happen to find nose rings particularly sexy for some reason -- not sure why, but I do. |

| I'm Looking For |
| I'm not I am not into social media, or dating apps -- filling this out is a first for me (!), and I do so with a fair bit of trepidation. I don't care about cars, and have a hard time identifying them beyond their colour and that they tend to have 4 wheels. I am generally turned off by high heels, stinky chemicals, and excessive makeup (I mean, wtf! :). I am not a religious person, but I live my life ethically and with sensitivity. I married young, and was devoted to that relationship for many years. Now, following divorce, I'm not so sure I believe in marriage anymore. My home is "homey" and well-kept, neat but not excessively so. If your home is a mess, and dishes are all over the place, we're probably not a good fit! I do not text or have the time or interest to serial date. If you are someone who is constantly on your phone or on social media, then I am definitely not the right person for you. For me, connecting by email and quickly moving to a video chat and virtual drink if there's a mutual interest is probably my preference. My preference would also definitely be for you to reach out to me if you think you might be interested in a chat Life is challenging as a single parent, especially during COVID. I feel I have a lot to offer the right person, and I realize I may be a bit unique. It would be a joy to meet someone who can be a friend, and maybe something more. |
