| Why I'm Vegan |
| I feel strongly about fairness and that means justice for everyone; it's wrong to use living beings, human and non-human, as though they are the same as possessions such as cars, houses or computers. All animals value their lives as much as we do; it's about respecting the rights of others and not exploiting them. I believe in the values of the founders of the vegan movement; in the original newsletter of the vegan society the title was The Vegan and under that title was written - against exploitation; that's what made me vegan and is why I can't imagine living any other way now. I've been vegan since 2013. |

| I'm a study in contrasts; I enjoy history - arts, anthropology, paleontology, but am also interested in sci-fi and want to see change in the world and society at large. I'm very sensitive and feel that humanity would benefit from being more sensitive as a whole; I was raised in a culture that values personal happiness above all and think this is wrong-headed. I think also that veganism is about justice for all and that includes other humans and the vegan movement needs to support movements for social justice more broadly to attack speciesism at it's roots. |
