| Why I'm Vegetarian |
| After researching environmental and health facts, & spiritual philosophies, I CHOSE to be mostly 98% vegan at the age of 17. (I allow for seldom/rare dairy.) One resource than made my choice simple was Frances Moore Lappe’s Diet For A Small Planet. I didn’t transition, I informed my parents (who each grew up on a farm in WI) of my new eating style. A few of my dad’s siblings had recently passed away because of heart attacks so … It was difficult for over 100 cousins and ALL the 32 aunts and uncles who were still alive to wrap their head around it. Dad is 1 of 7, mom is 1 of 12. My ex-husband and I raised our now adult children veg/mostly vegan and they remain veg/mostly vegan. |
