I prefer simple living and enjoying the flow of life in a sublime way - calmly and serenely, keeping the company of precious few or just myself. I do some yoga and a lot of walking and like to keep my body-mind clean. Spirituality is a big part of my life - the nonduality way. I value honesty, simplicity and kindness the most.
On a more subtle level I'd like to say I'm usually a calming and accepting presence. Having done quite a bit of shadow work I can relate to where people are coming from without judgement. It's not easy being human.
I guess at this age health becomes more and more important. I'm relatively healthy and have been putting an increasing effort in keeping it this way. This transaltes to eating healthy and detoxing the body regularly as well as moderate exercise and lately yoga. I also walk a lot, everywhere.

Story teller, musician, artist, carpenter, cook, gardener, orchardist, hiker, lover of life, this natural world, and our fellow creatures.
I live on a small acreage at the edge of a small city in southern Oregon. I spend some of each day interacting with the place with carpentry and gardening, depending on the season. There is much other time here for manifestations of creative energy...music, art, Qigong, etc. The setting is an integral part of and beautifully surrounded by nature.
Personal History:
Raised in a small town in southern Oregon. Studied fine arts in college during the era of the war in Vietnam. Refused military service and was ultimately awarded the classification of conscientious objector. Completed my 2 years of alternative service in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica. Traveled a third year in Central and South America. Returned to southern Oregon and, culture shocked, lived three years in backwoods settings. The last two of these years in a small log cabin deep in an ancient native forest (see photos). Grew large gardens, foraged for my food and studied Eastern religions, Native American history and primitive skills. Played lots of music. Practiced yoga. Painted naturescapes (see photos). Returned to civilization and joined with six other friends to open the area's first vegetarian restaurant. Worked for Wilderness preservation. Traveled and lived in Japan and China. Studied Japanese carpentry and Zen. Returned to southern Oregon and began work as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. Eventually became a legal counselor with a private non profit assisting client's of low income in matters of civil law. Loved counseling and problem solving with people to gain perspective on their life and legal situations. Married and later amicably divorced, focusing on raising our son and not our differences. During the years of legal services work I also taught a wilderness hiking class at a local college during spring and fall terms. In 2015 I left the legal work and returned to a small acreage where I have been working on gardening and carpentry projects since. I play piano daily and accordion occasionally. I have also worked periodically with a local vegetarian group that teaches and encourages the lifestyle. I have practiced Zhizeng Qigong daily since leaving the office.
