I live with a wide-open heart full of unconditional, expansive love. I practice random acts of kindness nearly everyday. I meditate, do online breathwork sessions and enjoy spiritual (not religious) books and events.
When I am not creating art, I volunteer at a local humane society and at a local food shelf. I love to walk in the woods on my property also. In addition, I enjoy working outdoors doing yard chores and flower gardening. Antiquing, auctions, yard sales, flea markets, music events and car trips to new places are some other things I like to do from time to time.
The mountains hold a special place in my heart and I now own a home on top of a small mountain in southern Vermont. My home is surrounded by flower gardens and several acres of woods. There is a lovely view of the valley below and a larger mountain in the distance.
Things I don't do well or things needing improvement:
I don't exercise regularly, so would love to find a walking buddy.
I need to lose weight in general. (I'm working on it.)
I hate to dance!
I dislike getting up early in the morning.
I have a phobia about public speaking.
Driving in city traffic makes me extremely nervous!

Most of my time is focused on work as an educator and taking care of my adult daughters who are disabled. I am a pretty odd duck, I can be the sweetest person you have ever met, but I also have a lot of sass at times and prefer to spend time with those who match my energy and don't drain it. My theology is most aligned with Buddhism, although I identify as agnostic. I have a strong need to learn new things and love having conversations about the metaphysical and unusual. I spend a lot of time outdoors. I kayak, hike, bike, birdwatch, and love meeting all my wild neighbors. The year before Covid I took my first surfing lesson. Although I did ride a couple of waves all the way in I mostly practiced falling. I got quite good at it. I was hoping to get back to practice more of the not falling part. But Covid got in the way. Hopefully this year I can try again with the help of a new competent president and vaccines.
I write and advocate for causes I care about and have had some successes. The circus no longer comes to my town, there's a beautiful preserved forest that does NOT have a cell phone tower, there's a large city park where ALL smoking is banned.....
My favorite issues are environmental, animal rights, and those concerning poverty and human rights. I think in another life I must have been a peasant in a peasant uprising.
This might seem odd but for fun I collect trash. My kayak often looks more like a garbage scow as I gather plastics and other trash while kayaking on the river and at the beach. I mostly just find trash but I've found some interesting stuff too, including something the bomb squad had to blow up on the spot. I'm still waiting to find either a briefcase full of half a million dollars of drug money no one claims or a chest of pirate's treasure sticking half out of a sandbar.
I love gardening... for wildlife, for food, for beauty, organically, and with native plants.
I enjoy a variety of things and am always eager to learn new ones. I'm open to suggestions.....

I am a deep soul with a playful spirit.
I find meaning fostering healing and peace. That led me to get a Masters in social psychology, bring empathy to emotional pain and teach yoga and conflict resolution principles. Yet, somehow freelance accounting work found its way into my livelihood equation!
“You’ve brought spirituality to Gold’s Gym”. That’s what one yoga student said. I believe every facet of our lives is an opportunity to deepen spiritually—though I often forget that when I’m struggling (lol)! This is why I’m so grateful for the friendships where we can share vulnerably, find insights and laugh at ourselves.
Nature helps me feel Divine presence—walking along the beach, biking through the woods, wading in the creek, gazing at the stars, laying on a boulder, sitting in the sun, and well um having romantic encounters with a black bear!
While I like to retreat periodically, attend spiritual services and ground in my (mostly clean, uncluttered) home, I’m also expressive in “the world”—public speaking, dancing and performing—striving to bring awareness in an entertaining way (themes ranging from patriarchy to spirituality).
